Employment with Encompass House

Employee Access Program

Encompass has always wanted to create a safe and caring work environment for its employees, and one of the ways we do this is by Employee Access Program (EAP) services to all our employees. EAP is a completely anonymous counselling service that workers can access at no cost whenever they feel they need some advice and guidance with professional or personal obstacles and concerns. The EAP counselors aren’t affiliated with encompass house in anyway so they can provide unbiased support that is focused on you and your personal priorities.

Salary sacrifice

Encompass House offers enticing salary packaging options to all its employees, to help maximize your income by minimizing your tax payments.

Salary Sacrifice is a fantastic program offered to not for profit organization, which allows employees to receive a portion of their weekly pay pre-tax, meaning your recorded taxable income is much lower each year, keeping more money in your own back pocket.

Employees can choose from a range of different ways to receive those pretax dollars, from having those funds paid onto a card, to having them paid directly into a bank account in some cases.

Upskill Program

Encompass believe in empowering our workers to grow their ability and understanding of the disability sector, so were committed to providing you with ongoing support to courses and programs that increase your skills at no cost to you other than your time. The world of disability support is a big one and there’s no telling where you can go with the right skills.

Whether it be spending time in the office with our amazing coordinators learning about the NDIS and what goes on behind the scenes to providing great care or attending courses and programs to understand medications or proper personal care in the home. Those opportunities are always available for proactive and passionate support workers to become even better at what they do. It makes such a difference to someone’s life when a support worker is not just competent but proud to be providing care and is finding ways to improve on what they do day by day, year by year.

Referral Bonus

Know any friends or family members who would make fantastic support workers? Or already are one? We offer a referral bonus of $250 to any great new team members you can refer to us. We’re always interested in expanding our team of great workers.

Note: referral bonus only granted to successful applicant referees.

Support and supervisions

Once a year, we do a check in with our support staff in a one-on-one fashion, asking questions about their workload, how they’re feeling, and simply checking in so clear communication is always present.

Free on-the-job training

As part of our upskilling of existing workers, we also have an arrangement with a learning provider named DSC. DSC provides our workers free online modules to complete which assist them with learning new skills such as medication handling and manual handling

Social events

As part of our effort to maintain workers health and wellbeing, we host social events throughout the year for support workers from all offices to attend, allowing them to meet other support workers and have an enjoyable night to blow off steam. It's free of charge for all who attend.

Last year we took out workers to bowling and a bar in Docklands!

This year we will be axe throwing!
